So yeah, I'll definitely take gameplay over graphics any day of the week. In Tiberian Sun the units pop out from the terrain despite the fact that one of the factions is the exact same colour as the dominant terrain colour. In AoA the units blend into the landscape, theres fog and smoke and special effects everywhere to the point you can't see whats happening. I mean go look at gameplay footage of Act Of Aggression for example, and then Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun, and tell me gameplay and graphics have nothing to do with each other. In older RTS games you definitely have simplicity, but its incredibly easy to tell whats going on. In chasing the best looking polygons, they obfuscated the gameplay. RTS games have been basically unplayable since 2003 because of the inability for developers to build clarity into their graphics, which hurts gameplay. Particularly for me, I play strategy/management games, and real time strategy games so what I'm seeing is integral. I would disagree heavily that gameplay and graphics are unrelated. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
